Reveiw of an Azazie Bridesmaid Dress

Hey guys! I know it’s been a while, but I’ve been hella busy. I started making these book pillows on my Etsy store and that kind of took off, so my days are spent at the sewing machine. Not that I’m complaining, but wedding stuff has taken a back seat while I get orders done.

Anyways, guess what I ordered the other day?

Whaaaat? Yes, I ordered a dress from Azazie.com! Previously,  I asked my bridesmaids to pick out a knee length, grape, chiffon dress of their choosing, and I wanted to see how the quality of these dresses were. Azazie has this feature where you can order your size or dress style to make sure it fits for just $10, including shipping, and then you send it back within a week.

To be honest, this process was super simple. However, you can’t usually order your preferred dress style in your size as a sample. You choose a size, then pick from what options they have. I decided to go with a size 14, I’m usually a 12, but I thought, just to be safe. So, in a size 12, they had about 15 different styles. I decided to go with a style called Kinley because it was a chiffon knee length option. There was not an option for color, but I had already ordered a sample from Azazie so I knew I liked grape.

The dress shipped super quick and I’d say I had it 4 days after I ordered it. It came UPS in a box. When I opened the box, there was a garment bag with the dress hanging on a hanger. I didn’t expect this and it was a nice surprise!

The dress was in turquoise and judging by the picture on my screen, the color is pretty true to life. It was a halter top with a lovely roused bodice. The quality of the dress was amazing, even though it was chiffon on the outer layer, there were two layers of a satin-like fabric under it which was nice and sturdy, but not too thick. The stitching on everything was great, it was just a good quality all around. Sometimes with chiffon, it can feel flimsy or delicate you know? But I was never scared I’d rip anything while trying it on or wearing it.

It also had a zipper in the back which was a bit tough to zip up and down, even when not on anything, but I think that’s because it was new and had not been used much.

Here is a photo of all the under layers. I wouldn’t think these would make you hot, but they do add a nice layer of peace of mind that my dress won’t fly up with the slightest gust of wind.

Good news is, it fit! Bad news is, it fit pretty well. This is sad because I KNOW I am/was a size 12, so maybe it’s time to hit the gym? Yah. But, it did fit well. I’d say it was a bit big in the chest region, but me being me, everything fits too big in the chest region.

All in all, I am very pleased! It arrived super quick, it came with nice stuff like a garment bag, the quality was excellent, and it looked great. Maybe it wasn’t exactly my style, but it did help a lot when it comes to deciding a right size and I got a feel for how other knee length chiffon dresses might look.  I’m not saying I’m getting one, but there are some cute dresses that I’ve been eying for possible shower and rehearsal dresses. And, now I know for sure my girls are getting something of good quality, no matter what style they want! (Why did I wait to check this out until after I asked my girls to get their dresses from here? The world may never know)

As for returning it, it was almost as easy as receiving it. The dress comes with a piece of paper with instructions on how to return it. It comes with a return address that you tape to the box it came in after you remove your own shipping label. Then, you take it to your nearest UPS store within a week of receiving it (for example, if you got it on a Monday, you’ll need to take it to UPS by the next Monday) walk in, drop the box off, and walk out, the return shipping is already paid for!

I’m really glad I did this, not only so I know what my size at Azazie is for future purchases, but so I know my girls are getting something good!

OK, stay tuned for the next exciting episode of: Shanon plans a wedding!

    • Hi Julie! You’re absolutely right, and that’s just another reason why I love Azazie so much. At least two of my girls used their custom measurements when ordering, it’s so helpful!
