I just bought Elessar!

Or rather, my fiance bought it for me for my birthday! Which is in July! So that sucks, because it’s March! And I can’t have it until then! Boo

But, yay! So, can we talk about how weird it is that Elessar the Elfstone isn’t in the movies? How hard is it to be like “Oh, btw, here’s Elessar for you, Aragorn” no, we get to see and hear all about Evenstar (not that I’m really complaining, because I LOVE Evenstar) but it’s weird, right?

It’s made by Badali Jewelery, and they are a licensed seller and making of official Lord of the Rings jewelery that they designed! We’re totally going to talk about them later, but for now, here’s Elessar.

Yay! It comes in sterling silver or white bronze for the metal, and you also have two choices of stone, either a ‘great green stone’, or a CZ green stone. Here’s what Badali has to say about it.

Direct from the pages of The Lord of the Rings™, the immortal trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien, comes Elessar™ The Elfstone.  Aragorn’s pin is carefully handcrafted one at a time in precious metal, hand finished and individually inspected for the highest quality by the Badali Jewelry artists.  The Elessar brooch and necklace are officially licensed The Lord of the Rings replicas with Middle-earth Enterprises.

Elessar™, also known as as the Stone of Eärendil™, is a silver eagle brooch set with a great green stone.  Elessar was given to Aragorn™ by Galadriel™ as the fellowship departed Lothlórien™ in The Fellowship of the Ring™.

‘Yet maybe this will lighten your heart,’ said Galadriel; ‘for it was left in my care to be given to you, should you pass through this land.’  Then she lifted from her lap a great stone of a clear green, set in a silver brooch that was wrought in the likeness of an eagle with outspread wings; and as she held it up the gem flashed like the sun shining through the leaves of spring.

Galadriel gave Elessar to Aragorn on behalf of Arwen™ as a token of hope and of Arwen’s love.  Uplifted by Arwen’s gift, Aragorn assumes the role of leader for the fellowship.  By accepting the brooch, Aragorn also accepts his destiny as the rightful heir of Gondor™.  The brooch would also serve as the source of his ruling name, King Elessar.  Bestowing the Stone of Eärendil to Aragorn also functioned as a wedding gift from the family of the bride to the groom, foretelling Aragorn’s marriage to Arwen™.

Love! It also comes as either a brooch or a necklace, but I’ve ordered it as a brooch and added a chain, so I can wear it either way.

So, we’ve ordered it, but sadly I don’t think I’ll get to see it until July, but I’m so excited!

That’s all! Yay
