Real Weddings: John and Rheena

Alright, this is an oldie, but a goodie. This amazingly beautiful Lord of the Rings wedding took place all the way back in 2005 at Fernwood Gardens in Quezon City, Philippines. Look at this photo from the gallery from Fernwood’s website, OK?

So just imagine that, but with a Lord of the Rings wedding. Freaking. Amazing.

This wedding is brought to us by Blanche of MoonsnJunes blog, who was an actual guest at the wedding! Here’s what she has to say in her original post back in 2009

This is actually the January 2005 wedding of my high school friend Rheena from Stella Maris College and hands-down one of my favorite, favorite affairs ever. Besides the well-thought out gorgeousness of it, my fiance and I are both BIG  fans of the LOTR trilogy. So imagine my utter delight when I got this Middle Earth map/invitation (left) for Rheena and John’s wedding:

That’s John and Rheena posed at Arwen and Aragorn on their wedding program!

The wedding was at the Fernwood Gardens in Quezon City, which was transformed into a medieval style setting.

Looking back at Fernwood Garden’s gallery page, you can see how the whole place already had an amazing woodland feel with all the trees and plants, so it was the perfect setting!

This is a photo from Fernwood Gardens, not John and Rheena’s wedding, but you can see all the natural foliage the place comes with!

Even the waiters who escorted the couple to the reception were in full LOTR gear

Meet the bride, Rheena (Guzman, now Evangelista). She wore the Japanese robe as a concession to her beloved grandmother who requested that she wear it (however, off-theme) because all the women in their family who got married wore it for preps

Now meet “Arwen”

And this is Aragorn, er John, wearing Arwen’s necklace. Rheena had that Arwen necklace even before the wedding

Here’s the little ring bearer, in Hobbit fashion

1935608_1193543954824_2491545_nBlanche talks about how her favorite part of the wedding was when Rheena was walking down the aisle. She was cloaked in a heavy cloak, but then undid the ties herself, letting it fall around her to reveal her gown to the guests!

And this is the part I remember most vividly from their wedding. After almost five years, I can still picture in my head how dramatic the bridal march was. Rheena was first cloaked…

The wedding favors were little One Rings too!

The couple even had customized movie posters. It says “The Two Lovers”, hah!

More Hobbits

The happy couple

This was the photo frame guests all signed. I love how even here, Rheena’s dress is so reminiscent of Arwen’s. And also, DAT HEADPIECE.

Sadly, I don’t know anything about vendors for this wedding, other than the location. But, it is so beautiful and we all have Blance of MoonsnJunes blog to thank for sharing these wonderful photos of this wonderful day!

Thanks for reading, everyone!
