Lord of the Rings Wedding Inspiration Part 2!

Last time on BreeCraft, we talked about Lord of the Rings wedding invitations, save the dates, your party’s attire, and bride and groom stuff. In this installment, we’ll drool over some awesome cakes, center pieces, and jewelry!

Warning: This post contains seriously epic wedding decor, view at your own risk

Ok, let’s talk decor! There’s a lot of roads we can take to reach a Lord of the Rings themed wedding when it comes to setting the scene. Luckily, some pretty flowers and lots of greenery can easily evoke a woodland look quickly. Think about having long banquet type tables instead of many round ones. Simple tablescapes can be just as nice and big grand ones. Perhaps a runner of rich upholstry or tapestry fabric along the length of the table would be nice! Add some simple candle holders and bam, that would fit right in to Middle-Earth.

Or forgo the table cloth all together and use nice wooden tables and chairs with just a few candles. Simple. Elegant. Awesome.

Happily, like I’ve said, a lot of different looks can fit into your LOTR themed wedding without comprising on your perfect centerpiece. You don’t have to trek out to the forest to find the perfect woodland glen (although that would be awesome). Try to pick centerpieces and decor that brings the outside inside.

Now that you’ve got your lovely tables all set up, what will you eat on them? Let us eat cake! Always.

Luckily, the interweb is filled with a crazy amount of LOTR cakes. Like, seriously, they are everywhere. They’re not just for weddings! People make them for birthdays, movie and book releases, random Wednesdays, it would seem that there is a LOTR themed cake for any occasion (which only raises my suspicions as to why I never got one) So, with so many out there, which one is best for your wedding? Probably not this one

Or this

So let’s take a look at some that might be a little more wedding appropriate.

First up is this amazing phoenix and dragon One Ring cake! Click on the photo to be taken to the wedding it was at, which was featured on Offbeat Bride. In fact, just click on the photo and go look at this wedding, it is…I have no words. It’s perfect. It pretty much renders my blog mute, because if you want to know how to do a LOTR wedding, just go look theirs, because they brought it.

See the ring?! Gah, I’m gunna die, how do you ever cut that?!

Oh, right, you cut it with a sword. Duh

Ok, continuing on, if you can even look away from this awesomeness, what’s next? This one is! Chances are, if you’ve ever googled ‘Lord of the Rings wedding’, this cake came up. Apparently made for a cake making contest by Cake Central member shukalata, this cake didn’t quite get finished in time to be judged. That’s probably a good thing though, because it would have completely blown every other cake out of the water, causing all the other bakers to cry and rethink their life choices, because how can you beat this? Answer: You can’t.

This cake was originally designed for the OSSAS wedding division, which had to be based on something from "Tinsal Town." I chose to base it off of the trilogy, "The Lord of the Rings." Unfortunately, I didn't finish it in time. :( After so much investment though, I had to finish it for myself. So, here's the finished product, with a lovely backdrop! Everything is fondant or gumpaste, except for the wire holding the pendant, and the sugar jewels in the top pendant.

This sword cake would make a great grooms cake! (Or, in my relationship, this would be MY cake)

And here’s a short and sweet Tree of Gondor cake

But maybe you’re not so much of a cake person? If so, that sucks, because cake it amazing, BUT! Guys, look at these! They’re COOKIES! I’ve always been a cake person myself, but I’d switch sides for these little guys, so cute.

I bet after one bite, you’d be stuffed! (Get it, because they’re lembas bread cookies? Eh? I’m funny)

And look at these adorable cupcakes!

And that was like .001% of the awesome Lord of the Rings confections people have made.

Let’s move on to jewelry! Now, I know what you’re thinking, and no, I’m not going to show the One Ring wedding bands, because duh. But, they are very popular and you can easily find them made of almost any metal, in any color, for any budget. But what about other jewelry options? I personally am going to be wearing my Evenstar pendant that I bought years ago on Ebay for my prom. It’s not an exact replica, but I love it none the less, and it shall be with me on my own wedding day!

Once again, the internet is full of great and unique Lord of the Rings jewelry for both men and women. Here are some earrings!

RINGS! I really can’t recommend Green Lake Jewelers enough. My fiance ordered my engagement ring from there, but it came with a CZ and I wanted a colored stone. So, he had me pick out a stone from Gem Select and we took both the ring and the stone to a local jeweler who set it for us. I LOVE my ring, but if you held a gun to my head, I’d have a real hard time turning down just about any ring from Greek Lake. Lookit!

These are JUST from the Organic Lines category, and there are hundreds more that I just can’t possibly pick from. I desperately want one for my actual wedding ring, but my engagement ring is so ornate that I couldn’t possibly wear them together. Go, reader, and buy all of them, and let me live vicariously through you!

Rings for boys! So pretty handsome!

What will you keep your awesome jewelery in, you ask? Why, the official WB Lord of the Rings jewelery box, of course! You’ll have to buy all of the jewelery pictured, because what else is it good for, if not to house all of the shiny prettys?!

One last thing. What outfit for any occasion, especially a wedding, is complete without a watch? You don’t want your new significant other to be late! Now, you shall always be on time (mostly for meals) with this fantastic Hobbit meal time watch!

IMG_20140730_180150  IMG_20140730_180227Where can you get one, you ask?! Currently, nowhere. I just finished making this little guy and I don’t have all the kinks worked out yet to put it up for sale. But, it works and it’s lovely, because now I always know when to eat (as oppose to just guessing in the past). Was this entire post simply a plug for my little watch I just made? Possibly. You’ll never know! But seriously, wouldn’t these make cool wedding party gifts?

Ok guys, now I believe you are ready to embark on your epic Lord of the Rings wedding. I know there are a few things we didn’t cover, but I leave that up to you! Your wedding will be awesome, beautiful, and most importantly, reflect you and your partner. Now, go forth and marry, and post pictures when you do!
